Allyson Felix
Allyson Michelle Felix was born Los Angeles on November 18 1985. The father of her Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley and her mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix was an athletically inclined child and discovered her love of sprinting while at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Following her initial audition, she placed in the top two in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships for the 200-meter sprint in only 10 weeks. Felix was a high school graduate when she graduated from school in 2003, signed a sports contract with Adidas. Then she was accepted into the University of Southern California and studied elementary education. Felix was awarded her first Olympic award at 2004 Summer Olympics In Athens Greece. Felix ran 200 meters in 22.18s, setting an all-time junior world record. She was the youngest participant in the 200-meter race during the World Championships that took place in Helsinki in the year 2005. She was able to defend her record the following year, beating her long-time Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix was a frequent competitor at Beijing, London Rio de Janeiro, and Tokyo. She was consistently within the top three places of all events.
